TAXI TO THE MOON
In my youth, I drove a gypsy cab then a NYC medallion taxi. Lots of adventures as I was working to stash money for my summer surfing surfari's to Callie. One day, I got to all 5 boroughs.
Our first trip was the Summer of '69...the same summer that a man walked on the moon. Do you remember where you were that day/night?
"Me and my buddies were getting real well known..." at a Santa Monica all-you-can-eat joint called "Sir George's Smorgasbord." Everyone stopped and watched in amazement this "giant step for mankind..." Afterwards, me and my fellow surf bums took the waitresses to the beach and hung out "under the boardwalk..."
