"Bring me a higher love..."

Updated: Jul 10, 2023

Woke up this morning with these words playing in my mind...

"Bring me a higher love..."

And began thinking about other songs about the theme of love....These next ones are just from what I recalled at that moment...Didn't look online for other prompts...

Oh...Before moving on here...STOP in the name of LOVE...and make your own LOVElist...AND, if you'd like, please share them with me...

  • Your love's lifting me higher...

  • Easy like Sunday morning...

  • What's love got to do with it...

  • All you need is love

  • Good lovin'

  • 1 Corinthians 13

My early morning musings continued...

  • While it's relatively EASY when we're young and in love...what about when we get so much older???...like when we're 64...

  • Well...I'm now 75...and that's more than ten years after...

  • Ten Years After

FYI: There's a LOVE/Play list near the end of this post...

It is NOW Post Time...

Some guys will go out on a limb...or a ledge...for this higher love...check out this next video...

Somehow, I associated this next song with our wedding day...don't remember if we requested it of our wedding band - the Soul Psychedelics...Yup, that's their name...

The Morning after...

I knew this song had some connection to our wedding day. I just fact-checked with Eileen, and she said the band played it for us - their pick.

LIVE from New York...It's Sunday Morning...

Look who was in the crowd.. joining their lovefest...

This next guy's TV show introduced some of the most famous bands in the USA, UK...and beyond...

LOVE in the Second Half of Life

While it's relatively EASY when we're young and in love...what about when we get so much older?...

--video alternates images of Paul and Julian based on who's singing...

Well...I'm now 75...that's more than ten years after...

With my current level of awareness, I find some of their lyrics offensive to certain groups of people...

"I want to change the world...but I don't know what to do..." - See Post game show below

"We DID...and Still DO!"

4/2/78 WE DID...

2023...We still DO...

FYI - This recent awareness is radically transforming my life...and the lives of this around me...

Old...

...and New...

"Ah, but I was so much older then...I'm younger than that now..."

Outstanding reflections, and of course musical choices!! LOVED seeing you and Eileen on your wedding day, Praise God! Only addition to song choices would be Stevie Wonder's "Higher Ground."
