“Music, Democracy, Action”
MISSION
HeadCount is a non-partisan organization that uses the power of music to register voters and promote participation in democracy. We reach young people and music fans where they already are – at concerts and online – to inform and empower.
WHAT DOES HEADCOUNT DO?
By reaching young people and music fans where they already are – at concerts and online – we make civic participation easy and fun.
We stage nonpartisan voter registration drives at more than 1,000 live events each year and collaborate with cultural leaders to promote civic engagement on a national scale. Since 2004, we’ve signed up over 600,000 voters through our work with touring musicians like Ariana Grande, Dead & Company, and Beyoncé and events like Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Pride Festivals and RuPaul’s DragCon. Meanwhile, our digital campaigns have won Clio and SHORTY awards, and our public service announcements have starred the likes of Jay-Z, Dave Matthews, members of the Grateful Dead and Brockhampton. More information about these initiatives can be found at the bottom of this page.

HOW DO ARTISTS WORK WITH US?
We provide voter registration at events as well as digital tools to promote democracy. Over 100 festivals and touring artists work with HeadCount to bring voter registration to their fans, and some have us organize larger Participation Row activism villages to highlight all their favorite charities.
HeadCount manages social impact programs for brands like Ben & Jerry’s, American Eagle Outfitters and MTV, centered around civic engagement. We are also a national partner of National Voter Registration Day, for which we orchestrate an annual social media push featuring the likes of Ellen DeGeneres, John Legend, Stephen Colbert, and 50 Cent with a collective reach of more than 1 billion followers.

THE BOTTOM LINE…

"Enter to win a video chat with your favorite artist. All you have to do is get ready to vote. Camilla Cabello, Dave Matthews Band, The Maine, [Phish,] Chole Moriondo, and more of your favorite artists are encouraging fans to get out the vote as part of our “Vote Ready” Campaign. Primaries are still happening across…"
"We’re partnering with fourteen major Broadway productions to encourage Broadway fans across the United States to register and vote. Although Broadway performances in New York City remain suspended through the remainder of 2020 due to COVID-19, fans can join their favorite shows in making their voices heard at the polls this fall.
Fans across the country can register, check, or update their voter registration status online and find localized information about polling dates, sites, and candidates. By doing so, they will enter to win Broadway show tickets (applicable when performances resume) and more.
Contest runs through October 1st."
--"We all have a civic responsibility to participate in Election Day to take action and make our voices heard. Every vote matters, no matter what you believe or who you support, yet only 56% of the U.S. voting-age population cast ballots in the 2016 presidential election. Lower voter turnout is often linked to confusion about deadlines, logistics and election procedures. Eventbrite is making a commitment to leveraging its community and platform to get out the vote this November with our 'Ticket to Vote' campaign."
"...To deliver on this goal, we’re partnering with HeadCount, a non-partisan organization that registers voters at concerts and events..." More details in article.
