Lunar New Year LUNA SEE

To celebrate the 2022 Lunar/Chinese New Year that began on Feb. 1, I put together a playlist and some brief information about this annual festival…you’ll need to supply your own fireworks…It’s the year of el tigre…the tiger…

At the end of this post, you'll find a playlist of all songs.

Across China and the Asian diaspora, the holiday marks more than just the beginning of a new calendar year...the Lunar New Year is seen as a time of reunion and rebirth, marking the end of winter and the start of spring.

According to one legend, a monster would emerge from under the Earth at the start of every year and eat villagers. Since the monster, called Nian (Chinese for "year") was afraid of bright lights, loud noises and the color red, they were used to exile the beast -- and have all become associated with the holiday.

MOON-ATICS

"The lunatic is in the hall…I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon…"

"Cold-hearted orb that rules the night

Removes the colors from our sight

Red is gray and yellow white

But we decide which is right

And which is an illusion"

Howling at the Moon - D Fine Us ...just found this after posting...
