Hi! Quickly pressed post lettin' you know about a last minute fun musical event at 6 PM tonight at the East Woods School in Oyster Bay, NY 31 Yellow Cote Road Oyster Bay, NY 11771. Our son John - on keyboard - will be accompanying the Yellow Cote Players.
So, if ya got no particular place to go tonight, c'mon over...

Back to Tonight's Gig...
Our son John will be accompanying the Players...who are made up of teachers and parents of students.

They don't have much of an online presence, but I did locate this 2016 clip from a performance that included this selection from Les Mis.

Life is a Caberet
"So don't sit in your room alone...come hear the music play:...TONIGHT!
The Yellow Cote Players will be showcasing songs from a variety of musicals and this number will be included:

Rumor has it (Reba?)...a Monty Python number might be included...
Life is a Cabernet...
And here's our host...and sommelier...Rich Klender...Absolutely a fun song!!!

"There a Grateful Dead Song...Wine...for Every Occasion"
Regular readers are familiar with this feature. It originated with my friend Steve...a surfing buddy, fellow Deadhead, Steve also introduced me to the art of Volkswagen repair (his Beetle, my Bus)..."Playing with cars" as he called it became my CAReer with Avis...
As a NYC middle school teacher, he got relaxation on weekends playing with tools. He advanced and built his own home in East Hampton. Pretty "GRATE!"

--nice finishing "hand work" on all counts
Without wine...Life would be Tres Miserables...

The Ripple Effect
LOOK what she pulls out of Redd's jacket...

Another Redd Foxx joke went something like this:
"Whayda get when you mix cream soda and Ripple? CRIPPLE!!!
WARNING: Drinking Ripple will stunt your growth...or worse, leave you DEAD...

Another classic from our early years of imbibing...
From the next drink...Uhh...article:
This joke is a reference to a famous ad campaign for notoriously noxious “bum wine” Thunderbird, which is known as “The American Classic.” In the famous radio jingle, played in the inner city and targeted toward low-income African American neighborhoods, the lyrics go
“What’s the word? Thunderbird. How’s it sold? Good and cold. What’s the jive? Bird’s alive. What’s the price? Thirty twice.”
Thunderbird: What's the price...???
--(inflation: $.30 to $.40)
Article included this classic tune about The Bird...or, from Glory to Gutter...
