Houses of Worship as Shelters from the Storms...of Life...

PROPOSED: That popular music might be effective in drawing some new folks into houses of worship…including the least, lost and lonely...the ragged people who live in the poorer quarters...on the other side of the tracks...

This post originated after my family texted earlier about church attendance and collection plate numbers... and how with the influx of new people moving into warmer climates, they're chopping down trees to build new houses...and displacing the local wildlife...

MUSICAL ALTAR CALLS...

Here’s one that addresses the loss of natural spaces and would be good for next weekend’s Earth Day sermons:

Comments on the new subdivision in town...

Regarding the family text comments about the animals having no place to go after man displaces them with developments… Read on...

Why, aren't our sanctuaries supposed to be places that welcome saints and sinners…otherwise...

See "Rahab" below for an example...

I dig their organ’s version of VOX Domini…(Latin for "voice of the Lord")

Here's another...

This is actually an image of Archbishop Randall Adler on a music CD. He was once the Primate of the Charismatic Episcopal Church that we were part of for many years…

SHELTERS FROM THE STORMS

These spiritual way stations were originally placed to help wayfarers who've lost their way...either temporarily...or because they've yet to find it...

"Come in, we'll give you shelter from the storm..."

"Asking only workman's wages

I come looking for a job

But I get no offers

Just a come-on from the whores

On Seventh Avenue

I do declare

There were times when I was so lonesome

I took some comfort there..."

Why look what we have here...a lady of the night that's entering Paradise...

WAYWARD SONS...AND DAUGHTERS...

"Carry on my wayward son

There'll be peace when you are done

Lay your weary head to rest

Don't you cry no more no!

Carry on

You will always remember

Carry on

Nothing equals the splendor

Now your life's no longer empty

Surely heaven waits for you"

To help you prepare for this next bodacious ode...Read on...

...If you've been following your BASE instincts, falling for all the SNARES of life, getting stuck in BOTTLENECKS, yielding to SAXual temptations...do not FRET...there's hope!!!

Listen in...These musical magicians can raise the DEAD...

Non-Sequitur...but Funny...
