BORED of EDucation? Reed on...

Today in West Hempstead we are going to the POLES to elect school board members and vote on the new school budget. As I'm penning this, our children are arriving at the George Washington Elementary School directly across from our house...

#music appears in nearly all my posts...and that's what's inspiring these musings...Hmm, let's see some lines I remember about school DAZE...

  • "We don't need no education..."

  • "Good morning, little school girl..."

  • "School's out for summer..."

  • "School of rock..."

"We don't need no education..."

Here's where the band was playing:

We miss you, Pigpen...and all the other members of the 27 Club..

"School of rock..."

...OR, BLACK to the future...

"School's out for summer..."

Looks like the school's "metal" detector was tampered with...

Sending this out to Pedro and other metal lovers...

This scene of Jack crowd surfing...

...reminds me of a new Choir Choir Choir experience I'm looking forward to in September (see next image). I learned of them when I went recently to the Double L bar in Hicksville to see Kelly and her all-girl band Pandora's Vox. When I got home and checked them out, I got tickets for their 9/13/25 gig at the Jeanne Rimsky Theater in Port Washington.

Seeing all that eyeliner on Alice reminded me of a cosmetic company that just so happens to share their name with a Rock & Roll legend...

Playing with words...ENCORE..."corps" is from the Latin for "body". I studied Latin for 4 years at Power Memorial Academy in NYC and then 2 more at our "graduate" school Iona in New Rochelle.
