Updated: Dec 16, 2022

Traveler: To experience the other "dayze" in this seer-ease...just get back on your camel...travel afar (out)...to the blog: https://www.asoulinwonder.com/blog-1

G-d arrest these Jerry Mentalmen...Huh???

Wordplay that can include the original so-named "Merry Pranksters" and those of us still riding some buses of our own...

--featuring the Grateful Dead

In my early 20's, I read Tom Wolfe's "Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test" (1968) and Ken Kesey's "One Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest" (1962) and internalized their messages of exploration sometimes to the "outer limits"...

Beginning in the summer of '69, I drove my "self-painted-with-some-help-from-a-friend" 1965 VW Bus back and forth and around this

ol' U S of A with friends - fellow "Merry Pranksters" looking for waves and fun and adventures...Even did two "trips" with my family: First, with my parents...Second with some of my sisters...

Now back to our (IR)regularly scheduled program...

Angels we have heard when high

"HIGH" is a state of mind...

...Some use substances to help reach this state...

...Some use meditative practices to induce it...

--in listening to the John Denver lyrics "He was born in his 27th year..."

I wondered if the members of the "27 Club" might have chosen

different paths had they spent some time here...)

Now 75, I've tried these and other ways to get "HIGH"...Currently, meditation (with and without music) and nature (again, with and without are my "drugs" of choice. Two places have become outdoor shrines:

The Bayard-Cutting Arboretum where I have spent some wonder-filled times sitting among the trees with fellow nature-worshippers sharing poems, prayers and promises...

--Let me know if you'd be interested in checking out these gatherings - they are very INCLUSIVE...

Hempstead Lake State Park practicing tai chi with like-minded folks. Notably, our Sensei is a friend from my "on the bus" days that I had the good fortune to reconnect with and accept his invitation to "Come to the Water"...

--Also an INCLUSIVE group, we meet every Tue & Thu at 8:00 AM on the fishing pier by Fields 2&3. In inclement weather, we gather under the shelter of the Pavillion (see photo) at the northern end of the Field 1 parking lot.

HELP: Can someone help me find a FREE method for adding some of the meditative music our Sensei adds to our practice??? I've tried for several hours so far...

For example, here's a track I like that's similar to those he shares:

Alternative take on a traditional tune and other holiday faves...

For Kids of All Ages...who enjoy both the traditions and the Freedom to venture "Furthur"...

Test me, Test me...Why don't you arrest me...

--from my license plate collection

Santa's Bag of Extreees

--a musical and humorous look that includes the origins of "Bertha"...
